Sushant Singh Rajput’s MS Dhoni biopic, Katrina Kaif-Sidharth Malhotra’s Baar Baar Dekho the movies releasing in September 2016

If August was all about the clash of Akshay Kumar’s Rustom and Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro, September is a feast for cine goers with multiple movies lines up for release. From Sonakshi Sinha’s Akira to Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra’s Baar Baar Dekho to Amitabh Bachchan’s Pink and the much-awaited biopic MS Dhoni: An Untold Story starring Sushant Singh Rajput, September has this and more.

An action-packed movie Akira starring Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role has been directed by AR Murugadoss. The trailer, filled with action sequences by Sonakshi, is more than enough to arouse your curiosity. The film is the first release of the month on September 2.

Baar Baar Dekho, a love story starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra is refreshing in its appeal and look. The song Kala Chasma has already become a huge hit. Another movie releasing on the same day is Freaky Ali starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui which is based on the sports of golf. The movie is produced and directed by Sohail Khan. Both films release on September 9.
Come September 16 and the audience will have a slice of a suspense thriller. Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles is a court room drama with a strong message. Amitabh is playing a lawyer who is defending the case of three girls who have been molested. September 16 brings along the horroe franchise Raaz Reboot too, the film has Emraan Hashmi in lead.Banjo starring Ritesh Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri is yet another interesting movie to watch out. The movie is based on how a guy (played by Ritesh) from slums goes on to play Banjo- a six-stringed instrument on a bigger platform.

The month’s last Friday has the much-awaited movie – MS Dhoni The Untold Story in store. The trailer has already been very popular among the audience, considering it is based on the real life of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays the lead, has seamlessly fitted into the Indian captain’s role.

There are low-budget films like Island City, Manmarziyaan and Days of Tafree also out this month. Can they give big releases a run for their money?
