The titans at the box office is good for the business of films and will shah rukh khan and hrithik roshan avert a BO clash

A clash of the titans at the box office is never good for the business of films. After the collision of 'Dilwale' and 'Bajirao Mastani' at the BO last year, SRK apparently wants to avoid a similar situation this year. On Monday night, SRK and producer Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly met filmmaker Rakesh Roshan at the latter's house in Juhu. The discussion revolved around how they could avert their respective films, 'Raees' and 'Kaabil' (starring Hrithik Roshan), from battling it out at the box office.

As of now, both films are scheduled to release on the Republic Day weekend. According to our source, "The meeting went on for a few hours and ended way past midnight. Afterwards, Rakeshji went down to see off SRK and Ritesh. Though nothing has been decided yet, it looks like the release of one of the movies will probably be rescheduled."

When contacted, Rakesh Roshan said, "Shah Rukh and I are good friends. We had not met for long, so we were catching up on old times. We didn't talk about our films."

Given that SRK and Rakesh Roshan are old friends, we are sure they met over coffee and casual conversation but they entirely skipped the subject of cinema is hard to believe.

When probed if both, the Hrithik Roshan-starrer and the SRK-starrer are releasing on the same date, he maintained, "My film will release on Republic Day weekend as planned. I don't know about them. Farhan (Akhtar) is not in town. So maybe after he returns, we'll know." interaction, when asked about 'Raees'-'Kaabil' clash, SRK had reportedly said, "We have spoken to Hrithik and also Ritesh and Farhan (producers of 'Raees'). That was a month ago, but I guess now we can do some adjustments. Rakeshji, Ritesh and Farhan will be meeting again. We are trying to figure things out, so we don't have a clash."

Interestingly, at an event for his upcoming film, when Hrithik was asked about this box office face-off, he had said, "We (SRK and Hrithik) are actors. We should leave all this to the producers to discuss."

Ritesh Sidhwani was not available for comment till the time of going to press.
